Very friendly people who greeted me as I walked around and/or asked for help. We were there on the night of lanterns and watched it from the living room. A strong showing of community participation. I loved it.

A quaint ,typical Lake District town.
A quaint ,typical Lake District town. Windy streets with nooks and crannies and something to discover on every corner. An awesome selection of eateries and cafes. Some like "4 penny cafe" were quirky ,friendly and the food to die for. The scenery was beautiful. The town is clean and easy to navigate. It has a Thursday market. And of course ,the Laurel and Hardy museum.

Friendly locals, good shops, good pub (Rose and Crown) and great Laurel and Hardy museum.
However seagulls so loud at night it was difficult to sleep, and traffic on main through road extremely busy at all times.

A Beautiful little town full of independent small shops making is quite a unique destination when most high streets are dominated by large chain stores. Lots of cafe's and restaurants to choose from. The area is full of historic sites and properties to visit.

Having lived in Ulverston for a few months in 2016, I know the town and surroundings fairly well. If you want to spend time, as I do, in a scenic area with both fells/hills and sea nearby, this could be the place for you! The town is small enough, if you want to avoid the stress and hassle of a larger town or city. And yet there are enough descent places to enjoy a good meal and/or a drink. There is a theatre/concert hall with a good programme of events, and a cinema. And there is often folk music in one of the pubs. Places to visit include the birthplace of John Barrow (mariner and explorer), a museum celebrating Laurel and Hardy (Stan Laurel was a native of Ulverston), and Swarthmoor Hall which played a key role in the beginnings of Quakerism in the 17th century. There is a fine view of the town and the beautiful surroundings from the top of Hoad Hill - just a short climb from the edge of the town.
I came to stay for a couple of days visiting family. Was the perfect location for me next to the town. Plenty of cheap parking close by. The room and bed was vey comfortable, I slept like a log . Complimentary tea and coffee was very much appreciated. Breakfast was cooked fresh from order and was fab and plentiful.
Adele and Ann were very helpful and accommodating, even when I lost my bedroom key. Still not sure how I managed to do that considering the size of the key :). All in all I had a great stay and will most definitely be back
The location was perfect. Right on the coast at the end of a long disused canal. Great for waling and exploring. Thirty minute walk into Ulverston or a five minute drive. The food and drinks menu was very varied and Chef Bob prepared some wonderful meals. Staff were efficient and friendly but like most places in the hotel industry they were short of staff, although those that were there worked hard to please the guests.
Lovely friendly hosts! Our room was clean and modern, the bed was sooo comfy and the shower was powerful and easy to use. There were nice little extras such as water and biscuits. The breakfast was as good as any hotel we have been to and I can highly recommend the smashed avocado. Perfect location in Ulverston for anything you'll want to see and do. We'll definitely stay again in the future :)
Ulverston is a lovely little town with plenty of pubs and restaurants. It's a good base to visit the rest of the lakes. The property is 2 mins walk from the town centre. Parking was available and free. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well equipped and very quiet at night. If you're planning to eat out we can highly recommend the Rose and Crown, lovely food at a reasonable price.
Location was excellent - 1 minute fromm the town centre and quiet.
Facilities were superb - very much a home-from-home and fully equipped. All the essentials were also in place (dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid etc) so I hope my contribution of laundry liquid (I had muddy cycling kit to deal with) added to the stoocks :)
The property and surroundings are perfect. Amazing value for money. It’s great how close to all the amenities you’re and Ulverston is a great night out. The beds are really comfy and Anastasia who runs the show is lovely and you can even book in for a massage at the spa which I did for my partner and she loved it.
We loved this property - everything we wanted for our short break in Ulverston. The property has been refurbished to a very high standard. We appreciated the smart TV and access to Netflixs etc. The property is very central and a great location for the restaurants we wanted to visit. Would definitely recommend.
We liked our host, Sarah, great company throughout, and very knowledgeable with local information. House always had a fire burning which was cosy on the cold winter nights. Would definitely stay again and would recommend others to do so, very close to the town centre of Ulverston.
It was conveniently located next to everything in Ulverston. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and resolved any queries immediately. We would happily stay again.
The apartment is right in the centre of Ulverston so easy to go out for dinner and a wee drink and also close to get to the surrounding lakes. It's well equipped and was a good size and very clean. There's cheap parking just up the road too which was great 😊
Great location for exploring the Lakes. Ulverston is a nice town, local shops to explore, routes to walk, ample parking and nice restaurants/bars. Quite dog friendly too. Liked the keypad access on the apartment. Bed SUPER comfy.
Right in town centre with a car park next to it. Car park rate is 60p/h 9am to 7pm. Furnishings in the home is of good quality. Just be mindful it is 4 levels. No issue for us but for those who don't like stairs...
Ideal location for the family to access the town centre and not far from other attractions, just a short drive away. House was lovely, nice and clean and spacious for 4 of us and a dog who also had a great time 😊
The location is exactly as explained, not in Ulverston center and that was something I was looking for so it was great for me.
Also it’s a farm so you can catch great sleep throughout the night, it’s very quiet!
Great location. Short walk into the town centre. The cottage is really well appointed, comfortable and cosy. Nice to have a gas hob as well. The cottage has everything you need for a short break.
Town centre location. After a week staying at pubs and hotels while we walked the Cumbria Way, it was great to have the peace and quiet of this small self-contained property.
Location in the centre of Ulverston was excellent and within easy reach of the southern Lake District. Plenty of restaurants around although a bit of a dearth on Mondays.
